How to update software from web browser.

Preparation
1. Prevent your computer from sleeping beforehand, the firmware update can take up to 80 min.

2. PC web browser: Internet Explorer 11 or Edge, Safari and Chrome.
Note: To use Internet Explorer, the following settings are required.
        -Select Internet Options “Security Tab” select Network Zone
        -Click custom level
        -Scroll down to “Include local directory path when uploading files to server"
        -Set to “Disable"

3. Download the "010300_FHA_BASIC_PKG.zip" file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference) on your computer.

4. Rename the downloaded zip file to "BASIC_PKG.zip"
IMPORTANT: Do not use any other file name. This update will not install successfully.

Check the settings of the projector
1. Turn on the projector and display the menu screen. Verify that the settings are as follows:

[Connection/Power] menu
        [ECO] menu
        Standby Mode: Standard
        Direct power On: Off

Connect projector and PC via network
1. Refer to the instruction manual “Connecting to a Network Equipment” and connect the projector to the network.

2. Turn on the projector and display the menu screen. Check the IP address on the menu [Connection/Power] > [Network Setting] > [IPv4 Setting].

Updating the System Software
1. Set the projector to standby

2. Open the control screen of the projector with a web browser
 - Enter http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (IP address of the projector confirmed in 1. for IPv4) in the address bar of the Web browser.
Note: For details, refer to the following items in the instruction manual "Using Network Features".

3. Select the [Setup] tab [Advanced Menu] [SW Update].
       
        On the above screen, check that “Power status” is set to STANDBY.
        * You cannot update if the projector is not in standby mode.

4. Click the [Browse ...] button and select the software update file (*) to be updated.
Note: Software update file obtained in the section [Preparation]

5. When you click the [Update] button, the following confirmation message is displayed. Click the [OK] button.
     

6. The software update file is transferred to the projector and the update starts.
During the update, the following progress bar will be displayed on the screen.
   
Note: The ON/STANDBY indicator on the projector will blink green during the update process. 
The update process takes about 80 minutes to complete. Please wait for update.
CAUTION: During the update process, do not disconnect the power/network cable from the projector.
Do not turn on the power of this unit with a remote commander, control panel keys or various protocols such as RS-232C and network during the update process.

7. When the update is completed, the following screen will be displayed. Click the [OK] button in the confirmation message.
     

Confirmation
When the update is completed, the version display of [System Info:] on the SW Update screen is updated. Check that the version is correct.
Note: If the version number is "01.03.00", the firmware update was successful.
     

The ON/STANDBY indicator on the projector will light up red, and the projector will enter Standby Mode, if the update is completed.

How to update software using USB flash storage device.
Please note that firmware update can take up to 80 min.

Preparation

USB flash storage device
        * USB2.0 compatible
        * FAT32 format (exFAT is not supported)
        * Free space: 500Mbyte or more

Download and Transfer the Update Folder to Your USB Storage Device

1. Download the "010300_FHA_BASIC_PKG.zip" file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference) on your computer.

2. Connect a USB storage device to your computer.

3. Transfer the downloaded zip file to the root directory of your USB storage device:
Note: The root directory is the top directory in a file system.

•       For Windows operating system: 
Right-click the downloaded zip file and, from the menu, click "Send To", then click the drive (EX: Removable Disk E:) that represents your USB device. The file will be copied onto your USB storage device.
•       For Mac OS X operating system: Drag and drop the downloaded zip file to the root folder of the USB storage device.

4. Rename the downloaded zip file to "BASIC_PKG.zip"
IMPORTANT: Do not use any other file name or copy to any other folder on the USB device. This update will not install successfully if the name of the file is not "BASIC_PKG.zip" or if the file is not located to the root directory of the USB device.

5. Eject the USB Storage Device from your computer.

Check the settings of the projector

1. Turn on the projector and display the menu screen. Verify that the settings are as follows:

Energy saving settings in the Connection/Power > ECO menu
        Standby Mode: Standard
        Direct power On: Off

Updating the System Software

CAUTION: During the update process, do not remove the USB device or disconnect the power cable from the projector.
Please read installation instructions before downloading.

1. Power off the projector and Disconnect the power cable from the projector.
Note:  Before unplugging the power cable, make sure the projector is in standby

2. Make sure no other USB device is connected to the projector before starting the update.

3. Insert the USB storage device containing the file "BASIC_PKG.zip" into USB port of the projector.
     

4. Insert the power cable into the projector. Update process starts automatically.
Note: The ON/STANDBY indicator will blink green during the update process. The update process takes about 80 minutes to complete.

5. Once the update is complete, the ON/STANDBY indicator will light up red, and the projector will enter Standby Mode.

6. Disconnect the power cable from the projector.

7. Remove the USB device.

Confirmation

1. Turn on the projector and display the menu screen.

2. On the [Information] menu press the (Right Arrow) button on the remote control to display the system information.
Note: If the version number is "01.03.00 P002", the firmware update was successful.
